This is the other piece of garden inspiration…my house doesn’t quite look like this. But I like how this is set out like a room.
Month: March 2013
Happy afternoon in Provence looking through Provençal Interiors books. Inspired by this garden for the mud patch outside my sitting room.
Finally, hyacinths! I love this time if year. There is so much to come and the flowers are all so scented. I think it’s nature’s way of getting us through these last weeks of winter.
lily of the valley are pretty high on my Love List, another flower that is strictly seasonal. I bought these last weekend at Columbia Road market and planted them in this footed bowl I got in Morocco over New Year. Rather pleased with it.
Am such a fan if Mimosa. It has such a short season and such a great fragrance.
Casual Friday. On site at my place. Floors are going down. Monday the electrics are finished and the walling and ceiling goes in the kitchen.
I have just started reading Laetitia Maklouf’s book, Sweet Peas for Summer about how to create a garden in a year. The most amazing thing is that her starting point in the book is March. I mean how often does that happen!? Almost always with these sorts of things I find that I have either just missed the perfect time to plant, prune, do anything or it is months away.
Just found this Sam McEwen deck chair designed as part of a project to support the Royal Parks.
Of course this is from Martha Stewart, but isn’t this a really pretty new way to tying a bow on a present?
Major progress at the homestead today. FINALLY knocked through between my ‘kitchen’ and the extension. Soon kitchen, cooking, dining, friends coming over will be a reality!
